The Edit

We’re stepping into this month of sun and warm weather with inspiration from none other than the deep blue sea. With it’s untamable beauty + deep mystery, there’s no wondering why people of all walks of life have remained enamored by her. The many incredible creatures that call it home, the way the light plays upon it’s surface, the humbling feeling you get when standing on the shoreline looking out on the never ending horizon. A world of possibility. And a reminder that there can be beauty in uncertainty and not knowing everything for sure.

Design Inspiration

Blue, red, white + gray are colors you often see associated with nautical or coastal vibes but we love this gray navy most of all. Hudson Bay - 1680 - by Sherwin Williams is a cool color with a warm, lived-in feeling. Making it the perfect choice for something bold but cozy.

We recently came across this stunning shower tile design + quickly became obsessed. You’ll find this specific design at the Greydon House Hotel in the heart of Nantucket. A hand-painted Portuguese tile mural, paired with unlacquered brass fixtures, vintage meets elegance in this timeless space. We’ll be drawing inspiration from this bathroom for a very long time.

Mind

Being that May is mental health awareness month, we’re assessing our daily lives and working to create small, consistent habits that will set us up for success. For me, that means getting sun daily, not skipping meals, slowing down + putting my health first, not my productivity. Instead of working from home at my desk, why not work in the park in the grass? Rather than rushing to complete all of your tasks within a specific amount of time, slow down and enjoy each step. Your nervous system will thank you and you may actually enjoy yourself. For each individual, our needs look different. Ask yourself what your ideal day would look like + then see how you can weave those little moments of joy into your everyday life. That will allow you to move toward your finish lines, while also feeding your soul along the way.

If you’re feeling off but don’t know where to start, begin with the simple things - exercise, sleep, eating healthy, connecting with friends + family and ample relaxation time. Take note of the things that make you feel light and calm and adjust accordingly. You’ll find your own rhythm in no time.

We are loving this psychological thriller this month! Sam, Bryden and their daughter seem to have the perfect life. But when Sam receives a call that their daughter wasn’t picked up from daycare, things get strange… and even stranger. They arrive home to find Bryden’s car in the garage and all of her belongings, including her phone, in their usual places, but where is she? With plenty of twists + turns along the way, this book will have you flipping to the next page just to see what happens next.

Good Eats

This creamy lemon pasta stars not one, but two delicious veggies in season this month - asparagus and artichoke. Super easy + super versatile. Add in anything you like - more veggies, meat, fish. The world is your oyster.

“After a great April, I’m ready to move into May. It’s basically the gateway into summer and I’m so excited! Hope you all enjoy the month ahead!”
